Snorkeling in La Jolla is a great way to interact with the abundant marine life in La Jolla’s Ecological Reserve. La Jolla has several snorkeling spots with some great opportunities to enjoy nature at it’s finest. Our favorite spots include the Marine Room and La Jolla Cove.

Marine Room

Home to Leopard Shark City, the Marine Room is within walking distance from OEX La Jolla and our preferred spot for our La Jolla snorkel tours. Leopard Shark City is teeming with harmless, yet exciting and large Leopard Sharks. This is an incredible phenomenon in La Jolla’s waters that attract visitors and researchers alike from all over the world. It’s a favorite destination for our snorkel guides too.

La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Cove has been a favorite snorkel site since the first snorkel mask was invented. La Jolla Cove is a rocky bottom snorkel site that supports abundant aquatic plant life and fish that make it their home. Garibaldi are common, as are seals and diving birds called Brandt’s Cormorant. La Jolla Cove is a shallow spot with bathroom facilities and a lifeguard tower close by.

There are shower and restroom facilities close by all La Jolla snorkel sites as well as several great restaurants adjacent to OEX. Lockers and dressing rooms are also available for your convenience.
