OEX Mission Bay actually began in Point Loma. Our store on Rosecrans focused primarily on kayak fishing, and later, freediving. When the opportunity arose to take over this beautiful location, right on the water in Mission Bay, we had to jump on it. We continue to specialize in kayak fishing and freediving, but our Mission Bay location has allowed us to expand into stand up paddleboarding, outrigger canoe and now we are able offer on the water demo’s right here at the shop. |

Our crew remains the same. Our primary expertise continues to be kayak fishing, but don’t be surprised if you catch one of us on a stand up paddleboard behind the shop. Our real life experience over the years has allowed us to pass along a lot of valuable information on anything from rigging a bait tank to paddling technique. You’ll catch all of our OEX Mission Bay crew giving seminars and leading kayak fishing classes year round, and chances are if you walk into the shop we’ll be busy explaining something to somebody about one aspect or another of kayak fishing. All of our advice and all of our recommended products have been and always will be based on our own personal, real life experiences. We don’t just work here, we’re on the water, we use the products we sell and we feel confident giving advice to our customers.
Brent “Capt. Torgy” Torgeson Torgy has his 100-ton Captain’s license and an amazing Palapa that he built in his back yard. What does one have to do with the other? Nothing but we promised him we’d mention it. Brent is an avid fisherman who has fished and dove all around the world. In the Mediterranean for Giant Bluefin, Bahamas for Bonefish, Fiji for Wahoo, and he has a place in Cabo where he frequently fishes for Marlin, Yellow Fin, Dorado and Rooster Fish. Brent has a wife, Staci, and two daughters named Riley and Kendal.
Brian LongBrian runs our Mission Bay store and is a kayak fishing guru. He can take a bare kayak and turn it into a fishing battleship. Don't believe us? Come in and check out his baby on display! Brian teaches our kayak fishing class each month, does some web design work, writes our articles, practically invented kayak safe electronics installations, writes our employee bio’s on this website and is by far the most important and valuable employee that OEX has ever employed. He definitely deserves a raise and is the best looking employee of all the stores. Especially compared to Brent. Brian may or may not have written this bio himself.
CJ SieblerCJ doesn’t do much around here, he just kind of hangs out. Nah, CJ’s been kayak fishing for years and has become a downright expert in the sport. Besides kayak fishing CJ is also an avid hunter and he has the camo truck to prove it. So whether you need a fishfinder installed or a pond cleared of waterfowl, CJ is your man.
Tommy Robinson Handsome, strong, smooth, refined; all words that describe me; Brian Long. But this is about Tommy. You’ll see Tommy in the shop every once in awhile, but he spends most of his time at Cal State San Marcos. Where you won’t see him is inside his car because Tommy is repeatedly ticketed for his overly tinted windows, which is why he must take on a part time job at OEX. Tommy is a kayak fishing specialist and he can answer any and all questions about the sport.
