OEX Sunset Beach was originally Malibu Ocean Sports, a factory store owned by Malibu Kayaks. John, Brent and Andy partnered up and gave the place a face-lift. Andy takes care of the day-to-day operations. Collectively the OEX stores use their buying power and inventory to get you the best prices as well as the best in stock inventory. If just one store has it, it can be in your hands the next day. OEX Sunset Beach is coming up on its third anniversary. We have built up an impressive rental fleet of kayaks and SUP. We cater to large group reservations and individual walk ups daily. The variety of sales, service, installations, repairs and rentals keep things fresh. We love what we do and it shows!

Andy “Iceman” Allen: The nickname is not from Top Gun or that he is a cold-blooded killer, he just ran an ice company for 17 years. Grew up fishing for walleye, bass and trout in Minnesota and North Dakota. Moved to California twenty-two years ago. Kayak fishing is a passion, an adventure and a community that Andy is proud to be a part of.

Wanda Allen: She is that sweet voice on the phone giving out directions or checking availability of a product. In the hustle of busy days, she gets people signed in and pointed toward the beach. Wanda adds a woman’s touch to the rough edges and helps keep the shelves stocked. If things are slow all we have to do is sit down for lunch and cars will surely pull up!

Andre Gatlin: Andre is a full time student and soon to be graduate entering the law enforcement field. He has been here even before we were. Andre is a very knowledgeable salesman who will answer all of your questions and have you feeling very confident in whatever you decide to purchase.

Cody Allen: Summertime helper, senior and son of Andy and Wanda. Cody has great customer skills and compliments are often heard. He works hard on those crazy, hectic days of Summer.
